Laboratory
The Laboratory analyses urine samples for narcotics and medicines, takes blood samples that will be screened elsewhere and uses an express method to check the blood’s CRP, haemoglobin as well as HIV antibodies. Electrocardiograms are also taken. The substance-abuse testing is guided by the principles of the Helsinki Deaconess Institute’s substance-abuse testing, which maintain that testing is done solely for treatment purposes. Substance-abuse testing is performed when assessing the client’s recent substance use as well as when supervising the client’s substance-free existence. The determinations may form a part of the treatment-need assessment or ward-care need assessment, or they may be a separate, individual service. The samples are taken under supervision at the Munkkisaari activity centre or at the client’s care division. Contact InformationLaboratory |
