Helsinki Diaconia CollegeThe College, which belongs to Helsinki Deaconess Institute, offers education and training for people wishing to become professionals committed to helping and serving their fellow human beings in the Social and Healthcare Sector, and Tourism, Catering and Home Economics Sector. We also offer flexible education-and-training paths for special groups and persons with immigrant backgrounds. These courses prepare and coach students for vocational further studies and for entry into Finnish society. Diaconia University of Applied SciencesThe educational tasks of Helsinki Deaconess Institute also include the education and training of social workers to be employed by the church, various Christian organisations, and society in general. In practice, this task is carried out by Diaconia University of Applied Sciences, Diak. ResearchHelsinki Deaconess Institute practises and supports scientific research focusing on the various services it represents. Permits are required for conducting research related to a service provided by Helsinki Deaconess Institute. Applications for such permits are dealt with by the director of the specific field on which the intended research activity would focus. In some cases, a statement of opinion from the Ethical Committee is also needed. |
