#GivingTuesday – Christmas Cards to elderly and homeless people made by young people at Vamos

1.12.2020

Every little bit helps. Young people at Vamos made cards to wish elderly and homeless people well in isolation and during difficult times.

Everyone has something to give. Every act of generosity counts on #GivingTuesday.

For young people  it hasn´t been easy to study or find their way during the year 2020. Many young people struggle with the issues such as loneliness, mental health and other problems. Tens of thousands of young people who have dropped out of school and working life would benefit from the work of Vamos Services at the Deaconess Foundation.

#GivingTuesday is a day to show kindness and generosity in all its forms by giving their voice, time, money, goods, and advocacy to support communities and good causes.

Vamos helps 16–29 year-olds towards school and employment. This activity is voluntary and free of charge. #GivingTuesday can also be a day for giving a donation.

Vamos is run in 13 areas throughout Finland: Espoo, Helsinki, Vantaa, Jyväskylä, Kuopio, Lahti, Oulu, Rovaniemi, Siilinjärvi, Tampere and Turku, Kemi and Tornio. Every year there are about 2 000 young people involved in Vamos.
